About us

Andrew Hoggart

Owner / IT Engineer

Andrews IT Career started from a young age, self-learning technology inside and out, online learning, physical learning, online courses, and getting up and teaching himself to repair and maintain IT systems, all while working in the restaurant industry.
Andrews IT career took a step up after taking an IT apprenticeship with a large corporate call center, working inside a call center due to their VERY fast-paced nature, you can gain a wealth of experience in a very short period, after 6 months of doing the apprenticeship the company pulled Andrew from the apprenticeship as they found it was not required, due to the amount of knowledge he already knew and Andrew was promoted to IT Support Technician, a year later Andrew wanted a new challenge.
Andrew moved to work for Capita, working on multi-million pound IT environments worldwide, providing support to the business at their local sites around Darlington and internationally.
In 2019 Andrew moved to a smaller, outsourced IT company in Ripon, to gain an understanding of what small businesses and home users wanted from IT support, working with this new company a morning could be climbing to the top of a castle to repair WIFI issues to the afternoon working in a quarry or working within local law firms to repair printer issues, the range of businesses working with the IT company was huge, during this time Andrew picked up on what real local people wanted from an IT company, and when COVID hit, Andrew quit his full-time job with a few hundred pounds in the bank and no stock, unknowing how well supported locally and nationwide this business would become, QCRS was officially full time, now known locally as Northallerton Computer Shop.

 Meet Keavey

Keavey plays a vital role at Northallerton Computer Shop, where she’s often the first friendly face customers meet in-store.
She helps with sales, customer service, and supplier quotes, making sure every visitor finds the right solution – whether it’s a repair, an upgrade, or a brand-new system.
Alongside her shop work, Keavey also supports our sister business, Arcadia, where she takes on accounts, supplier management, and day-to-day operations.
She’s also the one who keeps Andy organised and on track – no small task!
Most of our local customers know and love Keavey for her amazing customer service skills. She makes everyone feel welcome and takes the time to ensure you leave with a clear understanding of exactly what you came in for – always explaining things in as much detail as needed.
Her mix of customer focus, organisational skills, and behind-the-scenes support makes her an indispensable member of the team and someone both customers and colleagues know they can rely on.
Believe it or not, Northallerton Computer Shop was really started as a spare bedroom side hustle business idea!

Established in 2013, our family-run business is based in the heart of Northallerton, North Yorkshire. We are an independent electronics retailer and repairer, passionate about what we do. Our team brings a wealth of knowledge and expertise from all levels, ensuring that every staff member can support our customers exceptionally—from pre-order consultations to aftercare assistance. We're here whenever you need us.

Our Journey & Commitment to Sustainability
Our business began as a small, home-based venture with a core focus on recycling and sustainability. We dedicate significant time and effort to refurbishing and repurposing electronic products, keeping them out of landfills. Amazingly, 85% of electronic waste is sent to landfills globally each year, and we are committed to reducing this number. Most of our refurbished products come to us in working order, but are discarded to keep up with the latest trends.

Over the years, we've grown and expanded our operations. In 2020, we proudly introduced a showroom where customers can test and experience products before making a purchase. Following this in 2023 we opened our first high street shop!
Alongside sales, we serve our local community with repairs, and upgrades, placing our customers' needs at the center of everything we do. It’s simple—we give our customers what they want, when they want it.

Community Engagement & Support
We deeply value the support from our local community. By choosing our services, you contribute to our mission of giving back. Every year, we donate to local charities, support local football clubs, and provide technology to those who might not be able to afford the latest brand-new gadgets.
